Evergreen tree 5–16 m (to 18 m), palmately compound leaves (3–5 leaflets), greenish‑yellow fragrant flowers, ovoid drupes 7.5–10 cm with creamy‑sweet pulp varying from bland to peach/banana‑like. Fruits may have mild sedative effect; used medicinally for diabetes, arthritis.
